When the holidays are over, you may find yourself looking for some entertainment to beat away the post-holiday blues. While the ocean is always an option when you live in Freeport or the greater Destin area, sometimes you want something else. These upcoming events will help you get out into the community while enjoying great local entertainment.
Kayla Ray is coming back to the Freeport area. She will be hosting a country music concert at the Wilkinson Home on January 22 and 23 for a house show entitled Masks and Music. This home-style event encourages attendees to bring a dish to share and their own beverage. Instead of a concert venue, it is held in a beautiful Niceville home for an intimate music experience on January 22 and the Kelly Plantation Owner’s Club on January 23.
The Palms of Destin Resort hosts the Laugh Out Loud Sunday Comedy Show on Sunday, January 17. This is a year when we could all use a little more hilarity, so make plans to get tickets to this show. In addition to several comedians, the show will include an R&B music performance as well. MAGICSHAUN will also be performing a magic show, making this an excellent entertainment event.
The Bella Blue Bar is hosting open mic nights every Monday starting at 5:30. This Niceville bar is a friendly location to enjoy local performers in a casual setting. Make plans to enjoy some drinks and entertainment near Destin at this weekly event in January.
On January 5 at 4C BBQ in DeFuniak Springs, you can catch a three-act show that is sure to have you rolling on the floor in laughter. Wildly Unnecessary features audience banter to start, followed by stand-up comedy. The final act is a 30-minute long-form improv scene. It will keep you on your toes. The show starts at 7:30.
